    I like your second photo because the way you edited it made the shadow stand out more and the way the picture is it grabbed my attention right away. I think the first photo can be improved by making the levels of the picture different so the one side of the picture isn't darker than the other side.

    Good compositions!

    In image 2, edit out the white spot in the bottom right corner using clone stamp. It's a bit distracting.
